A SAVAGE MIST AND TENDER WOOD

In a cloud of wood and bark

where the soil held my heart

a root anchoring deeper

lulling me down

Would you drag me out

in the naked night

and with only your sight

wolf this reflection

of mist and moonlight

With splinters in your gums

could you still look at me

with dew off grass

a single lash

rock, vibrate,

and hum, hum, hum
