WAVELESS SONG WITHOUT BLOODSHED

The sand will tell you where I’ve been

Tracks like heart wounds embed

Burned like rubber to asphalt skin

is the poison inhaled, invited within

When I tried to love my growing dread

to be taken further tugged within

Love’s ocean will drown me instead

a waveless song without bloodshed

For I have wed with the sea breeze and foam

Forever the keeper of timid waves

left adrift in my own waters to roam

My soul to swim forever home

beyond the sunset where the stars are brave

Where my sun’s shadow flickers chrome

A blinding light my own to save

luminous rendition I won’t dissave

Let it not be a mere reflection

A reminder

of lacking presence, my honeycomb
